Fred started playing golf in 1974 and began giving lessons in 1987. He turned professional in 1991 and has spent decades helping golfers throughout Gatesville and Central Texas sharpen their fundamentals and elevate their performance.
Over the years, Fred is estimated to have worked with 400–500 students and has helped coach 3 state champion teams and 2 individual state champions.

In 1989, at Perry Country Club in Hamilton, Texas, Fred stepped up to Hole #1 and hit a driver off the tee. His second shot, a 3-wood, landed on the green and rolled back toward the cup for an eagle. A fellow golfer looked at him and said, “You just Fred Rhea’ed that.”
